We want Buddings to be a fun and creative environment for all the teachers, where the relationships you have with the kids make this job as fulfilling and joyful as possible.
This Training Program is designed to get new staff up to speed on our centre’s methods and policies as quickly as possible. It covers the things you will be evaluated on when it comes to job performance and raises.
Becoming an excellent Buddings teacher is an on-going development, but it starts with this 20-hour training program.
Module 1: Getting familiar with Daycare Requirements – 4 hours
- Physical Component: Tour the centre
- Materials to read: Policies Manual, Parent Handbook, website FAQ, and How it Works
- Quizes: Parent Handbook, Around the centre, Children’s Routines
Module 2: Child Development – 3 hours
- Physical Component: Bathroom practicum – 4 or 5 visits with kids and your teacher buddy
- Quiz: Implement 3 age-appropriate activities for toddlers
Module 3: Program and Menu Planning – 5 hours
- Physical Component: Plan and implement a snack activity
- Quiz: Make your introductory blog post with at least 3 photos/images
Module 4: Safety and Routines – 8 hours
- Physical Component: Participate on a fieldtrip
- Quiz: Submit your plan for a Big Kids Club class
Module 5: Final Exam and Assessment Meeting – 2 hours
Upon completion, and upon recommendation from your teacher buddy, you will receive a certificate for 20 hours of “Responsible Adult” training.
